Hi I'm Kandie Rush, real name Andrea, living in Bournemouth! I'm 29 years old and started off being interested in DJ'ing when I was 14. I attended a weekly under 18's night at the Cage and Zoo in Bournemouth called Equinox where I made friends with the DJ. That Xmas he and my mum arranged to get me some decks and tunes, and that’s been it from there. I got a regular spot at Equinox.

Took a few years out to have babies, and a failed marriage. Lol

Then got a pair of Numark direct drives and off I went again but HATED house this time round. I wanted to play Hardcore and really got into it. I’ve played a few parties and got involved in a radio station and became admin as the owner was very busy.

I look after about 15 DJ's there. After a while a mate brought round some dnb. I couldn’t get a mix wrong and loved it. I managed to download some and started to play it on Headrush FM (the radio station) and had good feedback.

I send a demo to a local and MUCH larger radio station that is primarily dnb and they took me on board straight away and asked me to play at a regular event called High Velosity. I now use Technics 1210 mark 2s and Pioneer CDJ500s with a Numark 8 channel professional pre-amp mixer.

I was introduced to a program called Fruity Loops and Nexus Synth and I’ve now produced 4 hardcore tunes and 1 dnb tune. 3 of the hardcore tunes are being released on Lethal Theory Raw label. I intend to make many more tunes to come.

I can pretty much play everything nowadays but love the hardcore scene especially when I get to mash it up with a bit of oldskool. Always goes down a storm.
